About me
Hello there! My name is Vanessa Ong. I am a fourth-year undergrad music student at UBC. At the age of 6, I started playing the piano. It was very soothing and relieved a lot of stress. It was therapeutic and it helped me with my day-to-day work. That made me realize that music was my destiny. When I was 11 years old, I picked up the clarinet in my school band and I really loved it a lot. I began to pursue my dream playing the clarinet and the piano. After every music lesson, my mom would bring me to the music store to browse around. It was and still is like going to a candy store. Over the years, I have collected an array of instruments, such as, trumpet, violin, saxophone, ukulele, bass clarinet, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar. I hope to, one day, master these instruments. I have attended as many concerts as I could. Also, I have been playing in churches and senior homes since I was 15 years old.

Other than learning new instruments, my pastime include cycling, drawing, watching youtube videos, and learning from others.
